Call for Submissions – “Asian American Voices” 2026 Journal (LaGuardia Community College/CUNY)

Asian American Voices, published by LaGuardia Community College/CUNY, is a collection of student literary and visual works that celebrate the rich cultural diversity of Asian and Asian American heritages at the City University of New York (CUNY). The journal showcases student works that highlight the many aspects of Asian American life, including cultures, histories, religions, languages, festivals, and talents, as well as work related to Asian American Studies.

All CUNY undergraduate/graduate students are invited to submit their work for the eighth issue of Asian American Voices, which will be published in May 2026. Submissions are welcome from students of all backgrounds, including but not limited to:

  • Reflective essays
  • Term papers
  • Creative fiction
  • Poetry
  • Art (photos, drawings, graphic art, etc.)
  • Recipes
  • Interviews

We encourage works that explore themes related to Asian or Asian American cultures, histories, and experiences. Submissions in Asian languages are warmly welcomed, provided they include an English translation.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Literary essays, creative writing, and personal reflections should be submitted as Word Doc format.
  2. Art submissions should be high-resolution (at least 300 dpi) and must include a brief description of the work.
  3. All submissions should be proofread and free from grammatical errors.
  4. All work must be original.
