Join us for a casual forum where you can learn more about the Hunter Asian American Studies Program (AASP). Peter Kwong, co-founder of the program in 1993, will provide a brief history of the AASP at Hunter, and you’ll be able to meet other AASP faculty and students to talk about our classes, minoring, P&D requirements, and how coursework in Asian American Studies will enhance your degree and experience here at Hunter.
The Asian American / Asian Research Institute (AAARI) of The City University of New York will be holding its 6th Anniversary Celebration at Gala Manor Banquet Hall in Flushing, Queens, the heart of New York City’s largest Asian American community.
This event explored the practice of contemporary Buddhism through discussions on altruism, culture, meditation, and key Buddhist doctrines, featuring insights from revered monks and CUNY faculty. Participants engaged with themes of inner peace, wisdom, and the cessation of suffering.
The aim of the Caribbean Asians conference is to profile and document the migration of Asians from Asia through the Caribbean to New York City, and the challenges and opportunities they encounter.
