Join us in celebrating a milestone quarter-century of impact. As part of The City University of New York, the Asian American / Asian Research Institute marks its 25th anniversary with a landmark fundraising gala convening over 300 esteemed community leaders, advocates, and supporters.
Join us to celebrate the Asian American / Asian Research Institute’s 24th anniversary as part of The City University of New York! AAARI’s fundraising gala will convene over 200 supporters, community leaders, and advocates committed to uplifting and advancing the Asian American Pacific Islander community. In line with our mission, this year’s event will honor the remarkable achievements of Asian American women in public service who have paved the way for greater representation, policy innovation, and community empowerment for all.
AAARI celebrated its 20th anniversary as part of CUNY, and honored leaders and CUNY alumni, Joyce Moy (former Executive Director of AAARI), Hon. John C. Liu (NYS Senate, Queens 11th District) and Ms. Naheed Samadi Bahram (US Country Director for Women for Afghan Women; Queens College alumnae), as well as student award recipients for the CUNY Thomas Tam Scholarship (Vikii Wong, CUNY School of Professional Studies) and Chynn-CUNY Essay and Morality Essay Contest.
AAARI celebrated its 18th anniversary as part of CUNY, and honored leaders and CUNY alumni, Hon. Yuh-Line Niou (NYS Assembly, Manhattan 65th District) and Ms. June Jee (strategic partnership consultant & City College of NY alumna), as well as students award recipients for the CUNY Thomas Tam Scholarship (Biling Chen, Queensborough Community College) and Chynn-CUNY Essay and Morality Essay Contest.
AAARI celebrated its 17th anniversary as part of CUNY, and honored leaders and CUNY alumni, John C. Liu (NYS Senate-elect) and Ava Chin (author/professor, College of Staten Island), as well as students award recipients for the CUNY Thomas Tam Scholarship and Chynn-CUNY Essay and Morality Essay Contest.
AAARI’s Annual Gala is attended by 450+ Asian and non-Asian academic, business, civic and community leaders, faculty, staff and students. At the gala we will honor distinguished alumni from The City University of New York, leaders from the community, and student scholarship recipients. Proceeds from the gala go towards our academic publications and public programs such as lectures, annual conference, and student film festival.
