CUNY FORUM Volume 12:1 commemorates five decades since the Fall of Sài Gòn and the Vietnamese refugee diaspora—one of the largest forced migration movements of the 20th century. For October, Filipino American History Month, the Asian American / Asian Research Institute is excited to uplift the voices of student researchers and activists with presentations from Gabriela Sagan and members of the Filipino Curriculum Project on Filipino activism for women and school curriculum in Hawai’i.
The Localized History Project is a youth participatory history collective working to bring local Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander history into K-12 classrooms through archival research, oral history methodologies, and mixed method surveys.
