Queens College 2024-2025 Provost’s Faculty Fellows Program

The Queens College Provost’s Faculty Fellows Program was launched in 2017 under the visionary leadership of Provost Emerita Betsy Hendrey. The program is designed to bring faculty into the Provost’s Office to work on special projects chosen in consultation with the provost over the course of a one-year fellowship. This year’s fellows are Diversity Fellow Christopher Williams (English) and Susan Davis (Music). You can read more about current and past faculty fellows and their projects here.

There will be two fellowships: 1) a Diversity Fellow, who will work on a project whose topic will engage with diversity, justice, inclusion, and/or equity; and 2) a Middle States Fellow, who will identify a project that is aligned with one of the seven Standards for Accreditation and engage with our institutional reaccreditation process in a substantive manner over the course of the fellowship year.

Competitive candidates will be tenured full-time Queens College faculty with a demonstrated interest in and aptitude for leadership (note: unfortunately, adjunct faculty are not eligible, nor are faculty who will be on leave during 2024-2025). Fellows will receive one course release and up to $5,000 support for the fellow’s participation in an appropriate leadership training program or leadership conference, to be expended during the fellowship year. I will schedule semi-finalists for brief interviews during the week of May 20.

A complete application packet consists of the following:

  • Statement of interest (maximum two single-spaced pages). Include which fellowship—Diversity or Middle States—you are interested in, and why.
  • Current CV.
  • Letter of support from your department chair, dean, or another mentor or advocate.
  • Statement from your department chair that she/they/he supports your participation if you are selected (preferably a simple email to you with your dean on copy).

Applications are due no later than Friday, May 17. Email your complete application packet directly to me at patricia.price@qc.cuny.edu.
