We aim to bring education equity, educator diversity, and representation to public schools and curricula. We are focused on social justice issues and activism. We want to display AAPI history in a disaggregated manner in such a way that it gives each group within the AAPI name individual attention to tell their stories. Therefore, we are looking for researchers and scholars in the following areas. We are looking for people who have specialized in or have studied the following areas in depth and can bring this history to exhibit panels. We have artists supplying the graphics and artwork. If you or anyone you know has a specialty in the following areas, please email our director to apply for this position.
- Vietnamese American history
- South Asian American history (India)
- Japanese American history
- Korean American history
- Filipino American history
- Native Hawaiian history
- Pacific Islander history
These projects will start in the fall semester of 2024. The ideal finish date is mid-December, but it can be extended.
The end products are two to four panels of exhibits of each group. The narrative of the history is catered to the general public reading level without a lot of technical jargon or big words. Our goal is to engage the public so they would like to learn more about the AAPI history and not to be intimidated by it.
Compensation
