Job Op – Adjunct Instructor, Asian American Studies (City College of New York/CUNY)

The Dept. of Sociology at the City College of New York (CCNY), CUNY is looking for a
qualified adjunct instructor to teach a new undergraduate course on Asian-American issues from a sociological perspective in Fall 2025. The course modality is in-person and meets twice a week at CCNY, for an hour and 15 minutes per session.

The course content is open, but it should introduce students to central issues such as U.S.
immigration policies and Asian-American experiences. This sociology elective course will not
have prerequisites; enrolled students may be new to sociology. Depending on the content and instructor’s expertise, the proposed course could also be cross-listed with another
department/program. This class has a cap of 25 students. Class is contingent upon meeting
minimum enrollment.

Interested persons should provide a proposed course title, a short course description, a draft
syllabus or outline, CV, and any other relevant materials like student evaluations, if available.

This course is being initiated in honor of the leadership and scholarly work of Prof. Betty Lee
