Hunter Documentary Cohort is a boutique internship placement program for students interested in careers in nonfiction storytelling. Each student is placed with a local unscripted production company according to their interests, to work alongside and learn from industry professionals. The program also connects students with alumni, resources, and off campus cultural activities to foster creative and professional growth. Program Director and Hunter alum Renée Muza will act as student mentor, offering weekly in-person check-ins for guidance and support, helping students navigate their internship experiences, set goals, and develop professionally. This program is open to qualified Juniors and Seniors in the Film & Media Department. A $1350 stipend is available to each student.

COUSINS is a creative first production studio based in NYC and working globally. They specialize in interdisciplinary approaches to commercial projects and original content. Their work ranges from award winning commercial campaigns to unscripted television series, fine art films, award winning shorts, visual albums and even cookbooks. Recent productions include Hulu series The Come Up, WNBA Pride is Love campaign, and a PBS short documentary Senior Prom.
Words + Pictures is a production studio with a mission to produce culturally relevant nonfiction storytelling. Founded by Connor Schell and Chernin Entertainment in 2021, the Words + Pictures team is led by the creators and producers of the groundbreaking “30 for 30” series, The Last Dance, and the 2017 Academy Award-winning O.J.: Made in America. W+P is complete with best-in-class production facilities and notable director-led production companies, including Emmy Award winning filmmaker Jonathan Hock’s Hock Films, and Emmy Award winning filmmaker Jason Hehir’s Little Room Films.
Lost in Space: Founded by Hunter alum Caroline LaVeglia, Lost in Space is a production & post-production company providing end-to-end services for filmmakers & independent creators to realize their visions from inception to delivery. They provide both post-consulting services as well as post editorial services. The team is invested in the functionality, infrastructure, & workflow to support the creative and overall success of clients in the entertainment space. A new company with big startup energy, where everyone is encouraged to share their perspectives, help set workflows and learn everything they want to know from our producer and engineering teams. Current Clients include Words + Pictures, Cousins, Conduit Films, Kunhardt Films, Beautiful Destinations, Top Rank, Yulari Films, Show of Force. Current Projects are Apple TV+ Super League, The War for Football series.

New Directors / New Films at Lincoln Center (April 2-15, 2025) Founded in 1972, the New Directors/New Films festival is jointly presented by MoMA and Film at Lincoln Center, showcasing a wide-ranging group of films by emerging directors working at the vanguard of cinema. Throughout its history, the festival has presented works by Pedro Almodóvar, Souleymane Cissé, Guillermo del Toro, Luca Guadagnino, Spike Lee, Euzhan Palcy, Lynne Ramsay, Kelly Reichardt, Wong Kar Wai, and over a thousand others.
Doc Fortnight 2025: MoMA’s Festival of International Nonfiction Film (February 20th – March 6th 2025) Established in 2001, MoMA’s annual festival of nonfiction film celebrates important new discoveries in documentary cinema, bringing adventurous voices and thought-provoking perspectives from around the world to New York audiences. Highlighting emerging and established directors working across the nonfiction field and addressing urgent issues of our time, Doc Fortnight showcases the enduring vitality of the documentary art form. Now in its third decade, the festival has premiered films by Chantal Akerman, Kevin Jerome Everson, William Greaves, Barbara Hammer, Barbara Kopple, Sergei Loznitsa, Stanley Nelson, Anand Patwardhan, Laura Poitras, among many other artists and filmmakers. Tribeca Festival (June 4-15, 2025) For more than two decades, Tribeca Festival has been a destination for new, groundbreaking storytelling from established and emerging artists in New York City and worldwide.
