Chinatown History & Design Tour

Join Mott Street Girls and award-winning graphic designer Zipeng Zhu for a walking tour of Manhattan’s historic Chinatown! Discover vibrant local businesses and uncover the neighborhood’s rich history while diving deep into the signage, graphics, and visual language that bring the streets to life.

The starting location for this tour will be shared with attendees a few days prior to the event.

Mott Street Girls is dedicated to making Chinese American history and culture more accessible to the public. Founded by Anna Huang and Chloe Chan, second-generation Chinese Americans, the organization offers engaging food and history walking tours through Manhattan’s Chinatown, creates educational social-media content, and collaborates with community organizations. Its mission is to preserve the neighborhood’s rich cultural heritage, support local businesses, and share inspiring stories about the Chinatown community.

Accessibility Note: Assistive listening devices will be provided during this tour. ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation is also available upon request. Guests should be prepared to walk for 90 minutes without seating.
