Asian American voters age 50-plus cited health care (93%) as the most important election issue this November, according to two recent national AARP surveys exploring their priorities and concerns. Jobs and the economy (89%) ranked a close second.

Some GOP House members take their Asian American constituents for granted, Rep. Grace Meng said, and it’s important “that they are called out for doing so.”

The results “point to the precariousness of many Asian low-income workers and the vulnerability revealed by the Covid shutdown,” said Howard Shih of the Asian American Federation.
