Non-AAARI Opportunities

This program provides support to outstanding scholars, researchers, and professionals in the field by offering the opportunity to conduct research in Japan.

​​​​​​​The GO Queens Grant will fund Queens-based performing arts organizations to support their mission and work in the community. Flushing Town Hall will award forty-six $20,000 two-year grants ($10,000 per year) to Queens-based perfoming arts nonprofit organizations that have the performing arts as a core focus/component in their organization’s identity with annual operating budgets under $250,000.

As part of the Statewide Community Regrants program funded by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), the Arts Grants for Queens program will fund artists and arts organizations based in Queens to produce arts and culture projects to be presented in the borough in order to enrich and enliven the community.

Open to immigrant students ages 16–28 residing in New York or New Jersey with a demonstrated track record of volunteerism and civic engagement. Applicants of all backgrounds are welcome to apply, regardless of status.

Selected participants, of Japanese American heritage or adoption, will attend an 8-day trip to Japan where they will visit many historical and educational sites, experience traditional and cultural activities, and participate in lectures and workshops. Each trip will visit Tokyo and one or two other cities.
