Queens senator introduces legislation requiring state public schools to teach Asian American history

Under legislation S.659 sponsored by Senators John Liu, Toby Ann Stavisky, Jeremy Cooney, Andrew Gounardes, Brian Kavanaugh and Kevin Thomas, the instruction on Asian American impact would be required at the elementary and high school levels following the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes across the state and the nation.

Asian American Federation urges elected officials to do more to meet community’s needs

With term limits creating 32 open races in the upcoming 2021 elections for New York City Council, the Asian American Federation (AAF) has released its briefing paper, “Expanding Communities, Expanding Needs,” to increase awareness of the changing Asian populations in all 51 city council districts.
