As a recipient of the Educational Fund Scholarship, Vu attended the AIDS 2024 conference in July in Germany with full support, including travel, accommodations, conference registration, IAS membership, and a daily living allowance. The conference serves as a global platform for accelerating progress towards ending the epidemic.

Prema Kurien, professor of sociology in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, has been recognized as a Daicoff Faculty Scholar. The distinction honors her achievements in research, scholarship and service. Dr. Kurien was a former CUNY Thomas Tam Visiting Professor.
The Association is saddened to announce that Dr. Douglas Lee passed away on May 24, 2024. He was the first Association for Asian American Studies president from 1979 to 1980.
The results, utilizing National Center for Health Statistics for Asian Americans or Pacific Islander youth ages 10-19 years who died by suicide, were published in the July 25 issue of JAMA Network Open.
