Bethany Kim, 21, was elected as the policy and education director of the Nursing Students’ Association of New York State at the group’s convention in late January. She will serve a one-year term.
On Tuesday, the Wisconsin State Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 240, which requires schools to include instructional program information related to Asian Americans and, more specifically, Hmong Americans.
Since waiting tables at age 17, junior Jake Xie has loved hearing people’s stories. Xie, a psychology major who grew up in Bensonhurst, is intrigued by human behavior. After working as a camp counselor at the YMCA, he realized that he wanted to focus his studies on children and help them develop emotional skills.
The department’s core faculty will remain members of other departments, and their courses will be cross-listed in both AAPI studies and their home departments, which will include English, economics, psychology, and SWAGs.
