AAARI Bring together scholars and experts who are engaged in the study of South Asian communities in Asia and the United States. To present findings on South Asian communities, especially India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Overview will comprise of demographic, social and economic analyses of women’s issues, human rights, business, leadership and the recent tsunami disaster in South Asia.
This event presented a solo dance performance exploring the essence of Chinese calligraphy through movement, where the flowing lines of ink and body merge to evoke spirit, form, and cultural heritage. It offered a meditative, abstract experience that invites the audience to engage with the interplay of inner and outer expression.

Dr. Brenda Malone, CUNY Vice Chancellor for Faculty Relations, and the Hon. Trustee Wellington Z. Chen, member of the CUNY Board of Trustees will join members of the AAARI board to welcome new Asian faculty and staff to the CUNY family. Later in the evening, Trustee Chen will also dialog with those present about the vision of CUNY for the Asian American community.
