AAARI Named in his honor, Edward W. Said Fellows receive a $5,000 research fellowship award that is intended to offset the financial costs of consulting the Edward W. Said Papers in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Columbia University.
Under the direction of the Director and Deputy Director, the Pacific Islander Studies Project Coordinator works closely with Center staff, students, faculty, alumni, and community partners to support efforts to create an ecosystem of support for Pacific Islanders at UCLA, including the Chancellor’s Native American and Pacific Islander Bruins Rising Initiative.
The SPCUNY grants for faculty aim to change this by funding faculty-led projects and assembling a cohort of faculty and students committed to socially engaged art. Fellows will receive $2,000 stipends towards the fulfillment of their project and access to Materials for the Arts.

AAARI is hosting a day-long symposium to build connection and community, and collectively vision the future possibilities and directions for Asian American studies at CUNY.
