GETSEA Mentoring Clusters in Southeast Asian Studies for PhD Students

GETSEA is accepting applications from early-stage PhD students for four two-year mentoring clusters in Southeast Asian studies. Each cluster will bring together four to five graduate students for regular virtual meetings, collaborative discussion, research development, and at least one in-person gathering. Selected students will receive a $1,000 award to support travel to the gathering.

Southeast Asian American Students Make Gains, Face New Federal Threats

The Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC) released a report in the spring titled, Rising Up: The Southeast Asian American Educational Journey. It highlights the progress Southeast Asian American students have made and the solutions that have made the progress possible. The report also calls for continued support from community and political leaders.

Pioneering study tracks Alzheimer’s in South Asian Americans

Researchers at the Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Research Center in the Rutgers Brain Health Institute reviewed 25 years of data on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia risk in India. Their findings were published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia, highlighting the need for more information and research on South Asian Americans.
