The Asian American / Asian Research Institute thanks Dr. Yung-Yi Diana Pan for her service as interim executive director of the Institute during the 2023-2024 academic year. Dr. Pan returns back to teaching in the Sociology department at Brooklyn College this semester, in addition to being a co-PI of the Brooklyn College AANAPISI Project (BCAP). Under her tenure as interim ED, AAARI will be receiving $350,000 for the FY25 New York State budget, through the support of many state elected officials. She will continue to assist AAARI with the Localized History Project, a collaboration with the Coalition for Asian American Children + Families (CACF), to create and advocate for K-12 AANHPI history curriculum in New York State classrooms. An essay about this collaboration will appear in the upcoming issue of CUNY FORUM, Volume 11:1.
