Join Third World Newsreel and the Documentary Forum at CCNY for a special screening and Q&A featuring Seat at the Table. The film documents the rise of South Asian Americans in U.S. politics, tracing their journey from the margins toward power. Co-directors Sarita Khurana and Yoav Attias follow several prominent South Asian political candidates during the 2024 election cycle, alongside a community galvanized by the groundbreaking campaign of the first South Asian presidential candidate. Within a hundred years, South Asians in America have gone from being disenfranchised to seeing the first South Asian presidential candidate on a major party’s ticket.

After the screening, hear directly from the co-directors, alongside other guest speakers, during a live Q&A.
