Job Op – Graduate/Undergraduate Research Assistants for 2024-2025 School Year (AAARI-CUNY)

The Asian American / Asian Research Institute (AAARI), and the Coalition for Asian American Children + Families (CACF), are hiring graduate or experienced undergraduate researchers, from SUNY and CUNY, to help lead a Youth Participatory Action Research project that seeks to expand Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) history in New York State history curriculum by centering and uplifting the voices of AANHPI youth from throughout New York State.

Researchers will be asked to facilitate monthly in-person meetings hosted at their local SUNY or CUNY campus that last 2-3 hours and facilitate lessons and discussions with youth about their experiences in K-12 schooling, as well as Asian American history. Researchers will also support youth in producing an AANHPI history lesson plan that will be incorporated into a broader youth-driven curriculum.

Applicants are encouraged to email a cover letter and resume to Shreya Sunderram, K-12 Curriculum Project Director: ssunderram@gradcenter.cuny.edu, and Dr. Diana Pan, AAARI Interim Director: ypan@aaari.info. Submission deadline, August 16, 2024. Role will begin September 20, 2024.
