Dear Corky (Documentary)

Friday, April 21, 2023 | 4:30pm to 6pm

CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies
25 West 43rd Street, 18th Floor

between 5th & 6th Avenues, Manhattan

Join us for a screening and discussion of the short documentary Dear Corky, with director Curtis Chin. For over fifty years, New York native and Queens College alumnus Corky Lee photographed his hometown’s Chinatown, and Asian American communities around the country. With a strong sense of social justice, he captured activists, celebrities, and everyday heroes with equal passion, taking over a hundred thousand photos. Sadly, while documenting the latest rise of anti-Asian hate crimes, Corky fell to COVID. Through his own words and pictures, Dear Corky reveals the man behind the camera.
