Linsanity. The word alone attracts attention. Find out what makes Jeremy Lin’s story tick from editors, reporters, and a PR expert’s point of view. And learn tips and tricks of the trade to help tell your story.

The Asian American Journalists Association of New York (AAJA-NY) and the Asian American/Asian Research Institute (AAARI) bring together professional journalists in various fields (broadcast, print, online, radio) and a public relation expert for a media access workshop. It is an opportunity for the community and the media to share stories, communicate and bridge the gap between them.

This FREE event for the community is open to nonprofit organizations, community leaders, concerned citizens, or anyone looking to get their news in the news. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of public relations and how to write an effective press release. They will also learn how to pitch news stories, how editors select news, and how to do a television interview.

If you do not have any media experience at all or if you are looking to pitch that story and get advice, you are encouraged to attend.
