Women’s Health Symposium: Healthy Living During Challenging Times is designed to help community healthcare providers learn more about issues affecting Asian American women living in New York City. Topics will include concerns for 50+ and over; human trafficking; patient navigation models; Autistic children; genetic diseases; developmental disabled; connecting with government officials and a healthcare reform update.

Our invited speakers are experts in addressing the health and wellness needs of women of East Asian, South Asian and Pacific Island descent from within the community. We hope their insights will inspire a spirited dialogue about how we can continue to build on maximizing the health care of Asian American women.

The symposium will be of particular interest to health care professionals, health educators, social service providers, students, advocates and individuals who live or work in the community.

Following the conclusion of this symposium, participants will have:

  • An increased awareness of health and social issues that affect Asian American women, as well as those issues that are more prominent in one population versus another;
  • Achieved a better understanding of the mindset of Asian American women when facing challenging issues;
  • An understanding of programs and services from the community to help Asian American women during challenging times.
