Join the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (WHIAAPI) at an all-day Summit with top Administration officials, federal agency representatives and local organizations, MTV and Facebook, to learn how the federal government, local programs, and the private sector are working to protect Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) and Muslim American youth from bullying.
The event will focus on stories from the community, discussions with anti-bullying experts, and information about federal programs and services focused on stopping bullying. The Summit is geared for parents, teachers and students.
Every day, thousands of young people are bullied across the country. Nearly one-third of all school-aged children are bullied each year – about 13 million students. Students affected by bullying are more likely to face challenges in school, abuse drugs and alcohol, and have physical and mental health issues. Bullying is an obstacle to academic achievement, and must be addressed to ensure that all of our students are college and career ready.
