Schiro Withanachchi is Associate Dean at The School of Business at Queens College. After an early career as an aerospace engineer, she transitioned to higher education. Withanachchi is a Sri Lankan-American who draws on her experience of living in Asia and her encounter with the Gulf War in Kuwait to develop innovative pedagogy. The author of articles on the impact of internationalization on 21st century skills, Withanachchi is the recipient of the Diversity Enhancement Research Grant by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Stevens Initiative Grant for incorporating Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), and the President’s Faculty Diversity and Inclusion Award for Excellence in Teaching.
