See what’s screening this weekend, including the U.S. premiere of Keiko Tsuruoka’s Tsugaru Lacquer Girl, the heart-tugging story of a family lacquerware business on the brink of collapse, Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s appropriately terrifying take on the domestic drama in Tokyo Sonata, and—from the Classics Slate—a 2k restoration of Kohei Oguri’s Muddy River and Yasujiro Ozu’s Tokyo Twilighton 35mm.
