Professional Development Workshop: Teaching with APIDA Graphic Novels

Sep/25/2024 at 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join the Asian American Education Project for a live, virtual workshop that will help educators gain a comprehensive understanding of the benefits of incorporating graphic novels into their classrooms, with a particular emphasis on APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) graphic novels. Participants will enhance their knowledge of these graphic novels and discover how they can support a diverse range of learners. Educators will also receive access to the newly released graphic novel “Fighting to Belong” and its companion curriculum guide, which explores the history of APIDA communities in the United States. Through this workshop, educators will learn how to understand, teach, and integrate these resources into their curriculum to enrich their students’ learning experiences.

This workshop is free for educators and will take place virtually. It will be facilitated by Paula Katrina Camaya.
