Poetic Exploration with Seo Jung Hak and Megan Sungyoon

Join us at the 53rd Street Library to welcome Korean poet Seo Jung Hak and translator Megan Sungyoon for a reading and discussion of The Cheapest France in Town (World Poetry Books, 2023), a “droll, absurdist collection that pokes fun at poetry as well as life’s tedium and despair” (Publishers Weekly).

The elusive, distant, almost disembodied voice of Seo’s English-language debut examines interiorities that seem familiar, yet whose ordinariness rises to the level of the uncanny. “The pulse of his poetry explodes … for hot love and infinite freedom,” writes Kim Hyesoon.
