disOrientalism is a truly New York experience– bringing together the best artists from Broadway, Stand Up Comedy, Dance, and Music for one spectacular all-star AAPI variety hour. To start off the year of the Snake, we are going to love you a long time with some one-of-a-kind performances carefully curated and hosted by New York’s original dragon ladies– notorious comedienne/rapper Kate Siahaan-Rigg alongside child star-turned-Broadway-actress Olivia Oguma. Joining us are Kathleen Kim, the creator of the first Asian-American muppet character in the history of Sesame St., iconic award-winning actor and activist BD Wong, rising star comic Adam MamaWala, Korean Broadway star Joomin Hwang, and killer nuyorasian rock duo Slanty Eyed Mama. The program lasts about 75 minutes and is designed to boost your immunity against boredom, cold nights and steam heats in your walkup apartment, xenophobia, orientalism, objectificAsian, and bowl cuts.
