Dismantling and Combating Hate Conference 2024

Apr 19 at 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

CUNY educates and employs approximately 265,000 New Yorkers of which at least 85% identify as being part of a minority group. The 2024 Dismantling and Combating Hate Conference will provide discussion about, and tools for, a holistic approach to building a sense of belonging and value among every member of the community at CUNY–from hiring and admissions practices to support services inside and outside the classroom.

Join us for a morning keynote and panel discussion, networking, and afternoon breakout sessions.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. This is a free event open to members of the CUNY community and the public.

Keynote Speaker
David Hinojosa, Director, Educational Opportunities Project, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law

David Hinojosa served as lead counsel for multiracial students and alumni defending affirmative action in SFFA v. UNC and SFFA v. Harvard, where he argued the UNC case before the United States Supreme Court. He is recognized as a national leading litigator, advocate, and thought leader in civil rights.

The Dismantling and Combatting Hate Conference, presented with the support of The Petrie Foundation and the CUNY Campus Climate Initiative, is the culminating event of Queens College’s Diversity Week, April 15 – April 19.
