Episode 01: Loretta Chin with Niara Johnson
This episode is Niara Johnson’s interview with Loretta Chin who was both a student and employee of Brooklyn College for many years.
Loretta held numerous positions from 1991-2019. During that time, she was a student from 2001-2013 and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Journalism. During those years, she was a student/employee advocate for Asian and Asian American Studies at Brooklyn College and CUNY and continues to this day to strive to achieve educational equity for such studies. She is currently an independent journalist who continues to work within the CUNY system and is the mother of three CUNY alumni.
In this episode, we discussed the ways in which Asian/Asian Americans are depicted and painted by the media.
