I'll Be Your Mirror- Annie Ho

“She wrote the poem that she is narrating here based on a prompt from our first day of class: Bring an object that represents Asian or Asian America to you.’ She brought a small mirror. Then the rest was history.” writes Professor Cherry Lou Sy. Annie Ho is a performance artist, writer, and filmmaker. She was one of several students to join Professor Sy’s Intro to Asian American History through Literature course at Brooklyn College—a course first of its kind on campus. Ho’s work focuses on intersectionality, identity, mental health, and liberation. With no prior filmmaking experience, she tackles this project headfirst with the intersection of her performing arts and mental health experience— creating liberty in her actions as you watch her take flight in her first film.
