Director/co-producer Larry Tung alongside co-producer Mehrunnisa Wani will screen and discuss their documentary Invisible No More (2025), a project funded by a 2024 Betty Lee Research Endowment Fund award, highlighting how Asian Americans are no longer just an emerging force in New York City politics, but are making sweeping strides at all levels of government. Focusing particularly on Brooklyn’s newly designated Asian opportunity district—created in 2023 through the once-a-decade redistricting process to reflect the explosive growth and impact of the Asian American community—the film features City Councilmembers Linda Lee, Sandra Ung, and Susan Zhuang, as well as State Senator John Liu, as they share their journeys into public service, detailing how they broke barriers, took seats at the table, and now champion the voices of their communities.
