Artist Zhen Guo will discuss her recent milestone exhibition at Baruch College’s Mishkin Gallery, Changing Cultures: Zhen Guo, A Retrospective. Curated by Dr. Gail Levin, the exhibition spans nearly sixty years of Zhen’s career—from her first embroidery piece created during the Chinese Cultural Revolution in 1966 to her recent large-scale papier-mâché breast sculptures and tufted tapestries. Zhen will share firsthand insights into her profound artistic journey from China to New York, exploring themes of immigrant identity, motherhood, environmental justice, and resistance to patriarchal violence.
