Women Artists, Curators & Activists: A Conversation

Please join the Mishkin Gallery at Baruch College for a panel discussion, Women Artists, Curators & Activists: A Conversation. Panelists include artist Zhen Guo, artist and Guerrilla Girls member Christina Schlesinger, artists and curators Susan Grabel and Lori Horowitz, art historian and curator Gail Levin, and moderator Maika Pollack, Executive Director and Chief Curator of Mishkin Gallery.

Presented alongside Changing Cultures: Zhen Guo, A Retrospective (on view til June 12), the conversation asks a simple but difficult question: why are so many women artists recognized only after decades of being overlooked? Bringing together artists, curators, scholars, and activists from different generations, the evening will examine the relationship between feminism, visibility, artistic labor, and historical recognition.
