Rules of the Road: Keeping Up with Federal Changes for Nonprofits

Jan 28 at 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Across the nonprofit sector, organizations are faced with the question of how to continue their missions in light of seemingly rapid changes to the legal environment. This session will help nonprofit leaders cut through the noise, deepen their understanding of today’s legal environment, and strengthen their ability to lead with courage and clarity.

Attendees will gain insights on:
• Maximizing mission-driven activity while staying compliant
• Recognizing which policies have changed—and which remain the same
• Planning ahead to remain resilient during turbulent times

Featured Speaker: Elizabeth (Betsy) Schmidt, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Policy. Betsy is a nationally recognized expert in nonprofits, social enterprises, and solutions-based policy analysis. She is also the author of Rules of the Road for Nonprofit Leaders: Using the Law to Achieve Your Mission, a must-have reference for nonprofit leaders.

This session is presented in partnership by New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI), Lawyers Alliance for New York, and Human Services Council as a part of the Nonprofit Resiliency Series.
