Mini-Global Mashup: DoYeon Kim (Gayageum) Meets Cooper-Moore (Diddley-bow)

Flushing Town Hall’s Mini-Global Mashup series brings together two amazing global music artists along with an accompanist for an afternoon of music, conversation and exploration.

The first Mini-Global Mashup series of 2025 will feature two extraordinary artists: DoYeon Kim, a virtuoso of the gayageum, the traditional Korean zither, whose innovative performances bridge centuries-old traditions with contemporary flair, and Cooper-Moore, a visionary multi-instrumentalist renowned for his mastery of the diddly bow, a one-stringed instrument rooted in African-American blues heritage. 

Accompanied by a skilled accompanist, Satoshi Takeishi, these global music trailblazers will explore the intersections of their diverse sounds, engaging in dynamic conversations and spellbinding improvisations that celebrate the universal language of music.
