Resonance – a Multi Experiential Dance Show
Nov 2 at 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Resonance celebrates Asian American stories and building community. This multi-experiential Asian American dance event was born out of a deep need to combat anti-Asian hate and foster a sense of community.
Resonance builds on our past work by bringing together Asian-owned, queer-owned, and street dance-centric organizations to celebrate the rich spectrum of Asian American experiences, as well as build Black and Asian solidarity through an experiential night market followed by a dance performance exploring themes of assimilation, humanizing the perpetual foreigner, and celebrating queer identity through street dance and contemporary movement.
Resonance comes in two parts.
The evening starts with a pre-show night market, inspired by Taiwanese night markets, that invites audience members to engage in various interactive Asian American cultural experiences.
Audience members can visit the karaoke station, body graffiti or digital art drawing booths (amongst many more), which serve as means to connect and celebrate the beautiful spectrum of the Asian American experiences.
