The establishment of dual language programs and schools is one of the new initiatives of the New York City Department of Education. The speaker will discuss the implications and challenges of dual language pre-collegiate programs/schools for institutions in Higher Education, such as the City University of New York.

Ronald D. Woo is Special Assistant to the Deputy Chancellor for Teaching and Learning with the New York City Department of Education. He is currently spearheading the development of the High School for Dual Language and Asian Studies - the first of its kind in the nation. Ron also teaches Education Law at Baruch College.
