Creative Process: Meet Artist Kelly Wang

Join us to meet with one of the featured artists, Kelly Wang, in our current Shan Shui Reboot: Re-envisioning Landscape for a Changing World Exhibition and learn first-hand stories of her creative process. You will get to chat and interact closely with Kelly during the program. As a promising emerging artist, Kelly seamlessly blends contemporary and traditional influences, intertwining American and Chinese traditions to craft multimedia masterpieces imbued with facets of cultural identity and personal experience. To Kelly, Shan Shui is the compressing of time. In traditional Chinese landscape paintings (Shan Shui), there is no sun, or moon, or shadows. Therefore, Shan Shui are endless spaces that exist in so many dimensions and could be any point in history.
