Untold APIDA Stories: Hip Hop in the Desi American Community

In post-9/11 U.S., Desi American communities looked to hip hop as a way to express how they are racialized as a community. Desi Americans also used hip hop to form alliances with Black communities. They focused on expressing racial consciousness to develop multiracial coalitions while acknowledging differences. Join us to learn more about Desi American communities and their cultures of hip hop.
