In this panel discussion moderated by painter Siyan Wong as part of her “Lives of Three Canners: New York Chinese Elderly Immigrants” art exhibition (thru 11/17), you will hear directly from canners and activists who are at the forefront of advocating for the rights of canners. Panel participants: Lynn Lewis (teacher, activist and former executive director of Picture the Homeless); Jean Rice (founding board member of PTH, a former homeless and a canner); and Ryan Castalia (artist, canner advocate and executive director of Sure We Can, a nonprofit bottles and cans redemption center in Bushwick, Brooklyn).
