SUMMARY:Theresa Hak Kyung Cha: Multiple Offerings
DESCRIPTION:Artists Space presents “Multiple Offerings”\, the first retrospective in twenty-five years dedicated to the groundbreaking work of the artist Theresa Hak Kyung Cha. She produced an expansive range of works comprising performances for film and video\, installation\, photography\, artist’s books (including her genre-defying book Dictée from 1982)\, and works on paper\, which will fill Artists Space’s entire first floor. In her lifetime\, Cha contributed to experimental art scenes in New York City\, San Francisco\, Paris\, and beyond. Her work has had a quietly profound influence on subsequent generations of artists.

SUMMARY:King of the Yees\, a play by Lauren Yee
DESCRIPTION:For nearly twenty years\, Larry Yee has been the heart and soul of the Yee Fung Toy Family Association\, a fraternal organization in San Francisco’s iconic Chinatown. But to his daughter Lauren\, a playwright living in New York\, the association is an obsolete relic of a vanishing world. When Larry suddenly disappears\, Lauren sets off on a wild quest to find him\, embarking on a surreal\, magical journey through the history and myths of her own lineage. KING OF THE YEES is a hilarious and heartfelt “kind of true” story by Signature resident artist Lauren Yee\, who turns her incisive comedic eye on what we inherit and what it means to truly be a Yee.

SUMMARY:Asian Americans and The Great Writ: Habeas Corpus Yesterday and Today

SUMMARY:2026 CUNY IT Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 CUNY IT Conference focused theme is: AI Disruption and Opportunities. Artificial intelligence is reshaping higher education at extraordinary speed\, altering how we teach\, learn\, conduct research\, make decisions\, design services\, and imagine the future of our institutions. For many\, AI represents disruption in its most immediate form—challenging long-standing assumptions about expertise\, authorship\, assessment\, labor\, privacy\, and trust. Yet it also offers new opportunities to improve access\, enhance student support\, expand creativity\, streamline operations\, and open new possibilities for teaching and learning. \nAI is already changing the conditions under which higher education operates. The question is not whether institutions will respond\, but how. This year’s conference invites the CUNY community and its partners to share ideas\, experiments\, concerns\, strategies\, and discoveries that can help us navigate this moment with intelligence\, imagination\, and care. If you are exploring how AI is disrupting familiar practices—or creating meaningful new opportunities—we encourage you to join us for this year’s CUNY IT Conference!

SUMMARY:Play - The Unsinkable
DESCRIPTION:When 17-year-old Little Fong is plunged into the freezing Atlantic as the Titanic sinks\, survival becomes a battle inside his own mind. The Unsinkable is a wildly inventive\, darkly funny\, and deeply moving odyssey inspired by the six Chinese seamen who lived—then were erased from the story of the Titanic’s survivors. From Liverpool’s engine rooms and Chinatown streets to Cuban sugarcane fields\, and a Chicago nursing home in 1986\, Little Fong’s memories and desires spring to life through puppetry\, cross-Atlantic dance traditions\, and flourishes of Chinese opera. He fights for dignity and love even as time slips and his life is largely forgotten.
