Purpose of
the Meeting:
Governor
Paterson
announced
earlier this
month that he
would seek $2
billion in new
cuts to the
state's current
budget. The
governor has
already ordered
state agencies
to cut 10
percent from
their spending.
Post-Wall
Street crisis (+
current budget
deficit and
dropping tax
revenue) has
precipitated the
need for
additional
legislative
sessions to be
convened. On the
cutting board
are vital
services such as
child welfare,
education,
health, housing,
senior services,
homeless
services and
many others. All
of which are
especially
important to
preserve
especially
during these
turbulent times.
Considering the
current
economy's impact
on everything
from hospitals
to schools, we
invite you to
participate in a
discussion with
Ron Kim,
Regional
Representative
for Governor
David Paterson
about how these
cuts are
impacting our
communities and
offer solutions
for addressing
the gaps in
resources.
